As you may know the Hilditch Group is a key sponsor of the Amalthea Trust, and it was founded by Mike and Nicky Hilditch in 2007.
The Amalthea Trust held a conference on September 19th at Calcot Manor and Spa, which was kindly offered to us as a venue free of charge by our Trustee, Richard Ball.
Many volunteers attended the conference including some of the Hilditch Engineers. Also present were the donorswho are currently funding the Kyambogo Programme. The guest speaker, Anna Worm, who has experience of training BMETs in numerous Low-Income countries, and is an advisor to both THET (the Tropical Health Education Trust) and the World Health Organisation, gave a marvellous presentation which looked at the whole issue of BME on a continent-wide basis, and really put our work into its true context. There were also presentations that looked at the work Amalthea has done over the last 12 months, pointed the way ahead, and provided teaching tips and a sense of educational context for our volunteers.
Many thanks to those volunteers who were able to make the journey down to Wiltshire. The ideas shared and comments offered were tremendously useful for us.
