Coronavirus Update 25th of March 2020

The Hilditch Group is a dynamic organisation and continues to adapt its services to meet the needs of all of our trusted buyers and vendors in line with guidance from the United Kingdom Government’s Department of Health and Social Care, Public Health England and the World Health Organisation. We will be keeping everyone abreast of the evolving situation as it unfolds.

As a specialist medical equipment provider that has grown over the decades, we are robust enough to have extensive systems in place to provide an uninterrupted service. We have implemented the following procedures to minimise the amount of potential physical touch points to negate any risk of cross contamination and infection:

  • The collection of items for sale from vendors will carry on. We understand that every site has its own logistical idiosyncrasies, therefore, we will be liaising directly with each individual institution to agree specific collection requirements and work with hospital policies, respectively. We will strictly adhere to all protocols to ensure there can be no contamination brought into, or to leave the site. We understand that healthcare institutions are extremely busy at this time, therefore, we will try to operate with the utmost sensitivity.
  • All of our auctions are all held online, either via timed on-line or live webcast, and will remain unaffected, as will payments and billing.
  • Live webcast actions will carry on as normal, however, unfortunately we will not be allowing any one onto site to bid. So make sure that you log in on-line early to ensure that you have plenty of time to bid on the items that you want. Please remember to telephone in advance when leaving commission bids.
  • The viewing of lots prior bidding unfortunately will not be allowed and all items are ‘sold as seen’. Therefore, be sure to email well ahead of time to liaise with our helpful staff who will be more than happy to give a description of selected items, answer queries or have the items checked by our medical engineers. These services are subject to the human resources being available. In certain instances, it may be possible to ‘facetime’ with our staff to get a live video of select items.
  • The collection by buyers of purchased lots from site will carry on as normal, with a few minor alterations. We have procedures in place to eliminate any possible contact between our staff and those in receipt of lots for collection. Please inform us in a timely fashion when you will be arriving to collect your items and make your presence is known at reception on arrival as normal.
  • We are offering additional storage for purchased lots until the restrictions on movement have been relaxed, as we understand that the transportation of large items can prove extremely difficult at present. Please contact us to find out more.
  • We offer a wide range medical engineering services and support for both on and off-site requirements. Our experienced engineers can provide repair, maintenance and installation services, including the servicing of ventilators and other electrical bio-medical equipment. Our medical engineering team can conduct decontamination of stock and issue certification if required. Contact us for further information.

Please be considerate; we ask that when you do intend to collect your purchased lots that you abide by the Public Health England advice of social distancing.
