Hilditch Group was engaged by a vendor to pick up 28 anaesthetic machines from their site in Belfast, with the collection confirmed fifteen days in advance.
Two days before the scheduled collection, the vendor advised that only 8 of the 28 machines would be ready. While this change initially presented a challenge – ferry crossings had already been secured for an 18-tonne vehicle – it also created an opportunity to maximise efficiency.
Leveraging the capacity of the pre-booked 18t truck, we acted quickly to implement a flexible solution. We contacted other vendors in the area and arranged the collection of additional equipment. This ensured the vehicle departed at full capacity, avoiding wasted transport costs and maintaining the original collection schedule.
As a result, the original vendor benefited from a seamless and accommodating service, despite a last-minute change in circumstances, while additional clients received timely support.
